T3: Using AI Without Losing Yourself
AI is everywhere right now. And while it can be an incredible support in your business, it can also quietly pull you off track if you’re not paying attention.
In this episode of Three Thoughts for Thursday, I’m sharing three specific ways AI can genuinely support the way you naturally work—without overwhelming you or hijacking your focus.
We’ll explore how AI can act as support by adapting to your working style, how it can help fuel momentum when getting started feels hard, and how it can become a rescue tool when overwhelm, overthinking, or shutdown sneak in.
I also share a few honest cautions about rabbit holes, distraction, and why AI needs direction just as much as you do.
This isn’t about outsourcing your thinking. It’s about using AI as a quiet backbone—one that works with you, not against you.

Welcome to three Thoughts for Thursday, where wisdom meets momentum.
Speaker A:Here's Kimberly Beer, entrepreneurial, wise woman and cyber sorceress to share three sparks to challenge how you think, create and lead.
Speaker B:So in this three Thoughts for Thursday, I want to talk to you seriously about AI.
Speaker B:So earlier this week you listened to a conversation with myself and my friend Betsy Bird, and we talked a lot about AI and how it can support you in creating systems in your business.
Speaker B:And here are my three thoughts about both the positive parts and the negative parts of AI assisting you in your business.
Speaker B:So the first way that AI can really help you is it can offer you support and it can become the quiet backbone of your workflow.
Speaker B:And it can shape itself to mimic or even really realistically become your natural way of working it.
Speaker B:It learns over time how to really functionally help you.
Speaker B:So in a way of when we look those four worker types that we've been working with for the last few episodes, the structured worker, the spontaneous worker, the meaning driven worker, and the strategic worker, AI can really support you in different ways.
Speaker B:Many times it can be the balance, the yin to your Yang, so to speak, or you're the Yang to your yin, however you wanna think about that.
Speaker B:So for structured people, really helps you build order, but it can also get you out of your creative funk.
Speaker B:Like it can give you ideation where that may not be always as comfortable for you.
Speaker B:Cause maybe it doesn't follow the rules and you can get AI.
Speaker B:AI can sometimes get really out of the box, so you have to be careful with that.
Speaker B:But it can definitely be helpful there.
Speaker B:For spontaneous people, it stays loose with you, but it also does some of the things that maybe you don't track as well.
Speaker B:For meaning driven people, it gives you alignment, it can get very aligned with you, but it also can help you with the minutiae and the mundane tasks that maybe you don't stay as well focused on because they don't feel like they really are contributing to that bigger picture.
Speaker B:And for strategic workers, it definitely will feed your appetite for data.
Speaker B:You do have to check the data.
Speaker B:Please understand, AI is very good at lying.
Speaker B:So make sure you check and correct.
Speaker B:Those are two things you have to do with AI, but it adapts and it can really help feed you the now there are some warnings I want to tell you about and I have been down the rabbit holes.
Speaker B:AI is basically trained to keep you engaged with it.
Speaker B:And so when you're using it as support capacity, sometimes it can get you off track.
Speaker B:So do recognize when that's starting to happen and don't always follow it down the rabbit hole.
Speaker B:Here's the thing.
Speaker B:You can always come back and complete that path later.
Speaker B:And what's wonderful is it keeps all of the information for you in that particular chat.
Speaker B:It's one reason why I have a lot of different chats.
Speaker B:I don't just use one thread.
Speaker B:I try to keep them topic specific.
Speaker B:And you know what?
Speaker B:As WAI leads on to wai, you can save that way for another day.
Speaker B:And if you don't go back to it.
Speaker B:Hey, there you go.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:And that is from a Robert Frost poem.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:My second thought with how AI can support us is it can help fuel our momentum.
Speaker B:So momentum is a big thing.
Speaker B:As you're moving through your business, it can help you get started faster with anything, especially if you are an individual whose temperament doesn't really lean into confidently making shit up.
Speaker B:So AI is really good at helping you start that creative process.
Speaker B:And for people who tend to wander, it can help you get your focus back on whatever you're looking at and help you maintain that focus longer so it can bring you back onto the topic.
Speaker B:Careful.
Speaker B:Again, fair warning.
Speaker B:It will try to get you to go down the rabbit hole with it.
Speaker B:Don't do not be Alice in Wonderland.
Speaker B:Do postpone it.
Speaker B:Following AI down a rabbit hole is a great thing for you to procrastinate in your business, by the way.
Speaker B:And as far as momentum is concerned as well, it can be the engine that nudges you toward an action and really does so in a way that honors your energetic style so that you're able to move towards those things easily and with minimal effort.
Speaker B:To be honest with you, the final place that My third thought for this three thoughts for Thursday and the final place I want to talk about today in how Akai can be a support is it can be a big rescue tool.
Speaker B:The number one thing that I hear entrepreneurs talk about, regardless of their temperament, is overwhelm in their business.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:It's one of those places that I think we all sort of feel overwhelmed, if not right now.
Speaker B:It definitely.
Speaker B:At times, I think every business owner has felt a lot of overwhelm.
Speaker B:And other things like overthinking and feeling really shut down can also come into play as well.
Speaker B:And AI can be your life preserver.
Speaker B:It can throw that out for you.
Speaker B:It can help you simplify things that feel really big.
Speaker B:It can help you expand things that you're not really sure where you want to go.
Speaker B:It can help you reframe things, and it can pull you out of a mental bramble and get you onto a clear path.
Speaker B:So it can be a very useful tool when it comes to helping rescue you.
Speaker B:When you get in that space of overwhelm, overthinking, or paralytic shutdown, I don't know what to do next.
Speaker B:It's a very good tool to reach out to.
Speaker B:So a couple of things I do want to caveat this particular episode with.
Speaker B:The more time you spend helping your AI understand you, whatever tool you use.
Speaker B:I Happen to use ChatGPT.
Speaker B:That's my favorite.
Speaker B:My ChatGPT's name is Solara.
Speaker B:I went ahead and gave it, like, an entire Persona for me that works for me, may not work for you, but you can do that as well.
Speaker B:I asked mine to name itself, so.
Speaker B:And it did.
Speaker B:It chose.
Speaker B:And I'm pretty sure there's probably somebody else out there who has a Solara.
Speaker B:I'd love to hear from you for sharing the.
Speaker B:The name of our AIs, but, you know, building a relationship with it, a healthy one.
Speaker B:This is not a human.
Speaker B:This is not something that's not a business partner, but it is a technology you can partner with.
Speaker B:And I. I love to give everything names.
Speaker B:My truck has a name, My computer has a name.
Speaker B:My cameras have names.
Speaker B:So that's not new to me.
Speaker B:But building that relationship with the tool so that it understands you and the way that you want to show up, I think is really key into utilizing AI.
Speaker B:And the only way AI is gonna learn about you is.
Speaker B:Is what you tell it.
Speaker B:So you can set that up.
Speaker B:You can teach it about your business, about your temperament, about how you like to do things.
Speaker B:And it's got access to a lot of data, and it can definitely pull from that data.
Speaker B:It has knowledge.
Speaker B:It has so much knowledge it can get its hands on to be able to support you, but you have to be honest with it and also don't believe everything it says.
Speaker B:I will tell you AI lies.
Speaker B:I catch mine lying all the time.
Speaker B:And I'm like, why did you do that?
Speaker B:You told me this was possible, and it is not possible.
Speaker B:It apologizes and we move on.
Speaker B:So it is.
Speaker B:It's like any employee in your business, you have to train it, and then you have to correct it when it doesn't do things the way that it said it would.
Speaker B:It can be a huge benefit for you.
Speaker B:And those three things that I gave you, the support, momentum, and rescue, those are parts of AI that can truly help you move your business forward and do it in a way that feels very aligned and can also help you get into and stay in flow as well as reduce the friction.
Speaker B:So thank you for hanging out with me again today.
Speaker B:I hope you enjoyed these three thoughts.
Speaker B:I'd love to hear about your experiences with AI and how it works with you with your temperament, especially if you're neuro spicy and you're using it.
Speaker B:I would love to hear more about that as well.
Speaker B:Thank you again.
Speaker B:Have a great rest of your day.
